The
stone was found in its original place at
Rævehøj (Foxhill), mired in the ground
at a Bronze Age burial mound that was
part of a larger memorial - a stone ship
terminated at each end with a small, low
high. It was unearthed in 1806, but has
been known in the past. This is
Denmark's longest runic inscription on a
rune stone with 210 runes.

The stone is 282 cm high, with
188 cm above the ground. It is
approximately 410 cm in circumference
and weighs approximately 7 tons. It was
erected in the first half of the 900s of
the magnate Alle.
The inscription
is: Side A "raknhiltr : sati : stain
þąnsi : auft ala : saulua kuþa uia
l(i)þs haiþuiarþan þiakn" Side B "ala :
suniR : karþu kubl : þausi : aft : faþur
sin : auk : hąns : kuna : auft uar : sin
: in : suti : raist : runaR : þasi : aft
: trutin : sin þur : uiki : þasi : runaR"
Side C "at : rita : sa : uarþi : is :
stain þansi ailti : iþa aft : ąnąn :
traki"
Translated: Ragnhildr placed this
stone in memory of Alli the Pale, priest
of the sanctuary, honourable þegn of the
retinue. Alli's sons made this monument
in memory of their father, and his wife
in memory of her husband. And Sóti
carved these runes in memory of his
lord. Þórr hallow these runes. A warlock
be he who damages(?) this stone or drags
it (to stand) in memory of another.
