The stone was found, as it was part of coastal defences around 2.5 km east-southeast of Faaborg port at Diernæs, where it has lain with rune side facing the water. The stone's original location is not known.

Found: Used at the coastline at Diernæs, Original location unknown.
Present location:
Faaborg Kulturhistoriske Museer, Banegårdspladsen 2 - 5600 Faaborg.

The stone is granite, and was probably carved as early as 700 to 900. It is 100 centimetres high, 32 to 50 centimetres wide and 42-45 centimetres thick.

The inscription "ĀslakR"
