This member of the
Ephedraceae was given this name
by Carl Rudolf Florin in 1933. It is found in high altitude:
3700-5300 m elevation from Afghanistan to China on dry and rocky
slopes. It grows in a well drained soil with little to some water
and lots of sun. It will grow up to 120 centimetres.
