This little member of the Cycadaceae family was given this name by Fa-nan Wei in 1996. It is found in south-eastern China and northern Vietnam, growing in cracks in limestone walls and gravel with some water and some to lots of sun. The caudex can grow to 25 centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to 100 centimetres in height. The cones are brown.

The genera name from Greek kyklos: 'circle' referring to the rounded tubers. The species name means 'six-half-bearer' - and then I lost it....
