This member of the
Fabaceae family
was given this name by John Patrick Micklethwait Brenan in 1963. It is found in
south-western Ethiopia, western Kenya and southern Somalia, growing in a well drained
limestone or sandy soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can
grow large, the entire plant from 45 to 100 centimetres in length. The flowers are
yellow.
The genera name refers to the
torulose seed. The species name from the growth form: "Creeping on
the surface of the ground". |
