This big boulder of Kastestenen
Søndersø,
also known as Kjellestenen is found within the village of Søndersø.
When I visited it in late 2018, it was
fenced in a construction yard. I
actually think they have shifted around
recently.
Location:
On the circus lawn along the road of
Toftekær, 5471 Søndersø.
GPS: 55.482302, 10.250080.
Size: 2,4 metres
high, 1,5 metres wide and 4,8 meters
long. It is above 40 tons.
Meaning of the
name: Throwing stone of Søndersø;
the village it is found in, named as the
southern lake.
Material:
Red large-grained granite.
Origin:
Småland, Sweden
Legend: It is
one of several rocks an angry troll
thrown at Skamby church. The troll Fin
from Finshøj throw them at the new
church of Skamstrup.
