There are several ways to measure the
boulders, and it can be difficult to get
an exact value.
Without an entire team with long sticks,
anglers and spirit level´- or some
clever electronically gismo, it is hard to
get exact measurements, climbing the
huge boulders. I think mine is
within 5%.
While
Henrik Jønsson Granat from GEUS use the
"brown box", I use the "red cross", and
that does lead to different values.
Unfortunately, I have used some of his
values on a few of the pages, along with
others work, and not noted it. Well,
they are pretty big anyway!
Regarding the height
and circumference. Again, there are
several ways to measure it. I use the
red lines: From the very top to the the
soil. I measure the circumference as I
was looking at the boulder from above,
and make a virtual line horizontal
around the boulder.
THOSE WHO TURNED OUT TO BE TOO SMALL:
BELOW 3 METRES.
While
I drive around to search for the big
boulders, I sometime end up at one,
being too small. I have made a list to
avoid returning to the sight - too late.
It is of cause not complete.
