This big boulder of Gronsalen
is
part of a huge tomb, found on a field on
the southern end of the island of Møn.
It is the sealing of the tomb and the
entire megalith barrow is impressive 102
metres long, 13 metres wide and 2 metres
tall.
The stone is also known as Hvide Sten
(White Stone). The tomb dates back 5500
years, where the large stone was split
to be used in the chamber. 145 other
boulders line the mount.

Legend: The
legendary King Kong Grøn (Green / Green
Hunter), who has given long barrow its
name. Fane was King Grøns wife, who gave
the name to Fanefjord. Green then ruled
over the western Møn, opposite the Cliff
King who occupied the eastern Møn. Both
Kong Green and Fane was to be buried in
the long barrow - Fane in western tomb
which remains sealed by a large
capstone. Kong Green was a great warrior
and legend tells that he once killed
seven giants in Østerskov- one in Bogø.
