            THE LAST VIRGIN SOUTH AMERICA
In an effort to save fuel, time - and a bit of money, I have decided to explore the last of my unexplored countries in South America, on one tour. Where I only breathily have visited Peru and Bolivia - both by mistake, Uruguay, Paraguay and Brazil are new countries to me. I have not seen Venezuela either, but in 2024, it seems like a real dangerous idea.

I have enjoyed Colombia, Ecuador with Galapagos, Chile, Argentina, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana.

Where I usually try to explore the entire country, I have chosen only to see the more interesting parts this time - as some of the countries are huge, others rather homogeny. My main interest is the semi-dry countryside, with its odd looking animals and plants like caudiciforms and cacti.
It is NOT a holyday, but a rather hard explore expedition, avoiding the more tourist-infested areas. That said; I should have some time to enjoying the wild, along with a few of the old colonial towns along route.

Finding the right time of year, turned out to be difficult, as it is a waste area, with different climates. At the same time, I would hate to miss any great summer at home. With the exception on the predicted rain in Paraguay, this plan seems to be the optimal period. Then again, it is an El Nino year, and all bets are off. Considering what is going on in some of the other countries around South America, I don't dear waiting a year or two.
