COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD
In an effort to find a new country to explore, I made a list of possibilities. Unfortunately, most of the remaining countries are way too dangerous due humans aggressively. A few others are just too small and at the same time; real remote. It seems like I have seen all "the low-hanging fruits" by now, and the world is too small and unsafe these days.


Officially, there are only 196 countries in the world (with Kosovo), of which I have visited 131 (including the extinct Eastern- and Western Germany and Soviet Union, and 3 briefly, but not counting the 6 former USSR-countries). Additional, I have visited 26 remote colonies (2 only briefly) in 2024. They are listed in the button.

The relation of each country and area does not necessarily be agreed on, and it may not be my own opinion either. It is more the general international society's dividing -  and still debated on. Some of those listed in the bottom of the page, consider them self independent, and that will lengthen the list. I have visited all of their rulers.

The 68 countries I haven't seen yet (2024), are located in: Africa; 39 (dangerous for a sole traveler, truly exploring), Americas; 1 (same), Asia; 16 (inc. 6 old USSR - bit boring, I'm told and dangerous for a westener these days), Europe; 1 (same) and Oceania; 11 (far out, small and real expensive). I have visited the ones in bold, some of them several times, others for months in a row. In total, I have spend more than six years outside my home country.
