This member of the
Selaginellaceae family was given this name by A. Braun in 1859. It
was originally found
in central and southern Africa, but have been spread around the warmer part of the
world like New Zealand, USA and Hawaii. It grows on
shady, moist ground with plenty of water. The plant can grow to
ten centimetre, and can be reproduced by cuttings. |
