given this name by Augustin
Pyramus de Candolle in 1838. It is found in South Africa, growing in a well
drained soil with some water and some sun. The caudex can grow
up to two and a half centimetre, the plant up to 13 centimetres

genera name from the Greek
othone, 'a linen cloth or napkin', in allusion to the downy
covering of some of the earlier known species. The species name
means 'wedge-shaped'. |
