This member of the Euphorbiaceae
family
was given this name by Werner Rauh in 1993. It is found in southern
Madagascar, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. The caudex
might grow to
10 centimetres in diameter, the entire plant
might reach 25 centimetres in height. The flowers are unknown for now.
Actually, I have a hard time finding information on this plant.
The genera is named after
Euphorbos, the Greek physician of King Juba II of Numidia. This
species must be from Latin; sub; 'under' and peltata;
'shield-shaped' and phylla; leaves for the shape of the leaves. |
