was given this name by Michael George Gilbert in 1987. It is found in Sidamo in
southern Ethiopia, growing in a well drained soil with
some water and not any sun. The caudex can grow to two centimetres in diameter,
four high, the entire plant
to five centimetres in height. The flowers are pale pinkish-green.
The genera is named after
Euphorbos, the Greek physician of King Juba II of Numidia. The
species is named from Greek; kryptos; hidden' and
Latin; caulis; 'stem' for the underground stems. |
