This member of the
Moraceae family
was given this name by Alain
Rzepecky in 2016. It is found
near Ely in the Nugaal Province; western Somalia, growing in a well drained
limestone-grit with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to
eight centimetres in diameter, the entire plant
to six centimetres in height - or more, if it get spoiled. The flowers are
greenish.
The genera is named after
Theodor Dorsten, 16th century German botanist and medical professor
at Marburg.
The species name honours Frank Horwood, 1924–1987, a British gardener,
who collected the species. |
