This member of the
Burseraceae family
was given this name by Mats Ingmar Thulin in 2001. It is found in Jebel MaŽali,
above Qaysuh on Socotra, growing in a well drained soil or on bare
limestone with some water and some to lots of sun. The stem can grow to
30 centimetres in diameter, the entire plant
from three to five metres in height. The flowers are greenish.
The genera name
honours the Scottish botanist John Boswell, 1710 - 1780. The species
name mean 'bulging' for the leaves. |
