This big boulder of Dammestenen is also known as Damestenen (The lady stone) and Hesselagerstenen (after the location),  is without any question the largest boulder known in Denmark (well, except the island of Bornholm). It is found at the end of its own road on the island of Fyn.
The Dammestenen have been introduced here from the south of Sweden, in the context of the Baltic ice approach. It is most likely is that a glacier tongue has slipped over Sweden, which Dammestene has been broken loose from the bedrock and frozen into the bottom of the glacier, then it have been transported to its present position by the glazier.

Size: 6,7 metres high (10 m), 9,4 metres wide and 13,8 meters long. It is 46 m in circumference. Estimate weight 1000 tons. 370 M²

Meaning of the name: Named after the location

Legends: They say that a lady who lived in Hou (the northern end of Langeland), exasperated that the tower of Svinninge church served the seafarers too good a beakon, in anger once threw the this giant stone against Svinninge tower. But although one can not deny that the good lady had forces and understood that aim, the stone only reached 2/3 of the way ".

Dammestenen must be thrown by a giant from Langeland after Svindinge church.
