This member of the Cactaceae
family was described by Albert Frederik Hendrik Buining in 1967. It
is found in the mountain of Minas Gerais, south-eastern Brazil, growing in
grit with some water and lots of sun. It prefers more regular
moist and higher humidity than most cacti. It will grow to 20
centimetres in diameter and 50 centimetres height. The flowers are
yellow.SubFamily:
