This member of the Menispermaceae family was
given this name by Hsien Shui Lo in 1978. It is found in southern
China, growing in a rich but well
drained soil with quite some water water and lots of sun. The caudex
can grow to eight centimetres or more in diameter, the vines can reach
for five meters or more. The flowers are reddish.
The genera name after Stephan
Ladislaus Endlicher, 1804-1849, an Austrian botanist who formulated
a major system of plant classification. The species name means 'on
the earth', for its trailing habit. |
