||Central South Africa
This member of the Portulacaceae
family might not been described yet. I found it in the central South Africa,
growing in grit with extreme little water and lots of sun. The
caudex grow to two and a half centimetre, the whole plant up to four
and a half centimetre in height.
The plants on this page was found near Poffadder in South Africa on
an expedition with Dr. Graham Williamson, who impressive put a name
to everything else we found.
The genera name means
'lawlessness' in Greek, but is more likely from Latin; avus;
'grandfather', referring to the "old-looking" stipular scales. The
species name after proff.
