This
tiny member of the Peperomiaceae*
family
was given this name by Ricardo Callejas Posada in 2011. It is found in Costa
Rica, growing in a clay-granitic soil with some water and some to lots
of sun. The caudex can grow from 0,8 to 2,5 millimetres in diameter, the entire plant
to three centimetres in height. The flowers are white.
The genera name means
'pepper-like', not as to appearance but as to kinship. The species
name refers to the single solitary leaf of each individual plant.
')Accordantly to the latest taxonomic system; APG IV 2016 is
Peperomiaceae
now part of
the Piperaceae. |
