was given this name by Guido Mathieu in 2011. It is found in Chiapas, Oaxaca and
Veracruz in South Mexico, growing in a rich soil with lots of water and
no sun. The caudex can grow to 0,3 centimetres or more in diameter, the entire plant
to two centimetres in height. The flowers are green.
The genera name means
'pepper-like', not as to appearance but as to kinship. The species
name refers to the habitat where the type collection was made,
hidden in the deep shade of a cave entrance.
