This member of the Euphorbiaceae
family
was given this name by Ralph Peckover in 1991. It is found in Eswatini, Lesotho
and KwaZulu-Natal in
north-eastern South Africa, growing in a well drained soil with
some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to five centimetres in diameter, the entire plant
to ten centimetres in height. The flowers are yellow to greenish-yellow.
The genera is named after
Euphorbos, the Greek physician of King Juba II of Numidia. The
species is named after the river of White Umflozi, flowing right through
its habitat. |
