Legend: Legend has it that the stone turns, if it smells like freshly baked bread or newly churned butter.  Apparently it is a sacrificial stone, which you have sacrificed butter and bread.Or that in the old days, people put a knob of butter on the stone. When the melted showed you that it was the spring equinox.
How it got here: Kullemanden called the troll who lives on Kullaberga in Sweden, he hates the sound of church bells. Many years ago he was so angry that he broke all the boulders of Kullaberga and threw them at Nødebo Church to stop the chime. The first roll was too short. The next roll passed west of the church with the landed near Lille Gribsø - and that is the Skallerød Smørstenen. The third wing of the church and landed at Egelund. Since the fourth throw did not reach beyond the "Tumlingevang", he abandoned his project.
