This member of the Crassulaceae family was
given this name by Hellmut R. Toelken in 1978. It is found in
western South Africa, growing in wintertime in grit or other well
drained soil with little to some water and lots of sun sun. The swollen
roots can grow to three centimetres in diameter, the plant will not
grow to more than six centimetres, except the inflorescence with the
white flowers.
The genera name is an anagram
of Cotyledon; a closely-related genus. The species name means
'yellow'.
