This member of the
Portulacaceae
family was given this name by Mark
A. Hershkovitz in 1999. It is found in western Australia, growing in
well drained soil with some water and some sun. The caudex can grow
up to three centimetres in diameter, the whole plant can grow up to
25 centimetres. The flowers are white to pink.
The genera name derives from one
of the many Aboriginal Australian names for the plant. The species
is named after Prof. Johann Georg Christian Lehmann, 1792-1860, a
German botanist. |
