This member of the Moringaceae family was described by Giovanni Ettore Mattei in 1908.
It is found in southern Kenya up to the region of Kisimayu, in Ethiopia
and in southern
Somalia by the coast. Growing in well-drained soil with plenty of water
and sun. The stems will reach for 3 meters. The flowers are green to crème.
The genera name from the
Malabar vernacular name; Moringo. The species name after
Antonino Borzì, 1852–1921, an Italian botanist.
This plant does not
like too dry air. The leaves dies as fast as they grow in my 50%
humidity.
