This member of the Moraceae family was described by Heinrich Gustav
Adolf Engler in 1894. It
is found in Kenya, Uganda, Zaire, Burundi, Rwanda, Mozambique and Tanzania, growing in a well-drained soil, with
quite some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to four centimetres
in diameter, the stems reach for 70 centimetres. The flowers are green/brown, and it can
be reproduced by cuttings as well.
