This member of the Talinacaea family was given this name by Nélida María Bacigalupo in 1993. It is found in Bolivia and Paraguay, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to five centimetres in diameter, the entire plant from 40 to 100 centimetres in height. The flowers are yellow to greenish-white.

The genera name is derived from the Senegalese name for a certain species in Senegal. The species name for the nocturnal flowering.
