This member of the Peperomiaceae family was given this name by Guido Mathieu in 2011. It is found in southern Bolivia in 2900 metres height. It is found in an area with a rather dry, rocky soil with little to some water and some to lots of sun. The caudex can grow to four centimetres in diameter. The leaves reach ten centimetres and with the greenish  flowers, the plant reach 20 centimetres.

The name refers to the pattern on the leaves.
