This member of the Peperomiaceae*
family
was given this name by Ricardo Callejas Posada in 2011. It is found in the
grasslands of Costa Rica, growing in a rich soil with some water and
some to lots of sun. The caudex can grow from 0,5 to one centimetres in diameter, the entire plant
to three centimetres in height. The flowers are light yellowish-green.
The genera name means
'pepper-like', not as to appearance but as to kinship. The species
name refers to the habitat of this species: Open grasslands of
paramo-like vegetation.
