This member of the Geraniaceae family was given this name by Elizabeth M. Marais  in 1994. It is found in the Cape Province of South Africa, growing in a well drained soil with some water and some to lots of sun. The caudex can grow to two centimetres in diameter and six centimetres long, the entire plant to five centimetres in height, 20 with the inflorescence. The flowers are from cream to pale yellow with a few red dots..

The species name from its three, very long fertile stamens.
