"Lewisia leana"

This member of the Montiaceae family was given this name Benjamin Lincoln Robinson in 1897. It is found in Oregon and north-west California. It grows in a well drained soil with some water and some sun. The caudex can grow up to 3,5 centimetres in diameter, the plant reach up to 20 centimetres. The flowers are white to lavender.

The genera name the American explorer Capt. Meriwether Lewis. The species name after the British gardener J. Lee Hammersmith.
