This little member of the Hyacinthaceae family was given this name by Winsome Fanny Barker in 1987. It is found in Bitterfontein in the north-western part of the Cape Province of South Africa, growing in a well drained soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to two centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to four centimetres in height. The flowers are white.

This is a winter grower.
