   This member of the Polygonaceae family was given this name by Kerstin Haraldson in 1978. It is found in China and Japan, growing in a well drained to rather rich soil with some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to 30 centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to four metres in height. The flowers are white.
