This dioecious member of
the Cucurbitaceae family was
given this name
by Charles Jeffrey in 1962.
It is found the forests of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
The vines will reach from one up to three meters, the caudex can grow up to
fifteen centimetres in diameter. The flowers are from white over deep cream to
orange-yellow.
The genera name from Greek eu;
'truly' -rei-; 'unknown' and aner; ' stamen'. The species name
means 'banded, bundled'. |
