This member of the Euphorbiaceae
family
was given this name by Michael George Gilbert in 1990. It is found in
south-central Ethiopia, growing in a well drained limestone soil with
some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to five centimetres in diameter, the entire plant
from 60 to 80 centimetres in height. The flowers are reddish.
The genera is named after
Euphorbos, the Greek physician of King Juba II of Numidia. The
species is named after some nearby limestone caves; Sof Omar,
'Cave of Omar'. |
