This member of the Euphorbiaceae
family
was given this name by Nicholas Edward Brown in 1915. It is found in in the dry
grasslands of Gatsberg in Tembuland; South-Eastern South Africa, growing in a well drained soil with
some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to ten centimetres in diameter, the entire plant
from five to fifteen centimetres in height. The flowers are yellow.
The genera is named after
Euphorbos, the Greek physician of King Juba II of Numidia. The
species is named after Gatsberg, where it is found |
