This dioecious member of the Zamiaceae family

lots of sun. The caudex can grow to 35 centimetres in diameter, the entire plant
to 200 centimetres in height. The cones are light green.
The name
Encephalartos is derived from the Greek.
en meaning 'within', kephali meaning 'head' and artos meaning
'bread'. The specific name
from the Manica districts of eastern Zimbabwe and western Mozambique,
where this species occurs. |
