This member of the
Primulaceae family was given this name by Carl Georg Theodor
Kotschy in 1865. It is found
on Cyprus, growing in a well drained soil with
some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to seven
centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to fifteen centimetres in
height. The
flowers are from white over pale pink to rose.
The genera name from Greek kyklos:
'circle' referring to the rounded tubers. The species name after the island it is found on; Cyprus.
