This member of the
Cucurbitaceae family was given this name by Hanno Schaefer
and Susanne Sabine Renner in 2011. It is found
in Thailand below 200 metres, growing in a rather rich soil with
quite some water and some to lots of sun. The caudex can grow to
centimetres in diameter, the entire plant to two to ten centimetres in
flowers are yellow.
Named in honour of Tem Smitinand (1920–1995), the Thai forest
botanist, who made one of the first collections of this species.
